Welcome to Montana Gems of Philipsburg. Located in the beautiful Flint Creek Valley, right at the base of the Sapphire Mountains. Fortunately, we’re located along the scenic Hwy 1 route that runs between two of Montana’s famous destinations – Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.
Philipsburg is a perfect destination for anyone that loves sapphire mining, historic downtowns, great scenery, hunting, fly fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, camping and just about anything out-doors. We’re often a daytrip for our local communities to bring guests and enjoy the day but don’t think it has to end there. With all the great terrain around, make Philipsburg your base camp and explore all the area has to offer from here. Campgrounds, B&B’s, cabin rentals and a motel offer lodging options for just about any taste. Several small restaurants in town will help keep you energized and a fresh beer from our award-winning Philipsburg Brewing Company will be sure to quench your thirst.
While in town, grab a copy of the Philipsburg Territories. This free guide is packed full of information on our little town and its history. You’ll find a walking tour complete with photos of the historic buildings. There are maps to guide you to the old mining locations, our ghost towns and there’s a printable walking tour of Granite Ghost town. Check out the Museum and hear about the history of the Montana sapphires. Besides checking out all the sapphire gravel bags for sale, we’ve provided a few other ideas to help complete your trip.
