ROCK CREEK SAPPHIRE GRAVEL

Our Rock Creek Sapphire Gravel contains approximatley 2 gallons of unsearched material - weighing about 25lbs.   This virgin Montana sapphire gravel is unwashed and comes from the Potentate Mining Company located in the Sapphire Mountains near Philipsburg.

This mountain material will contain a lot of clay.  You may also find small sticks, pine cones and debris making it our most difficult material to wash clean.  Hopefully your added time and effort will be worth it. Fortunately, when you do get it clean, the Rock Creek sapphires are usually quite gemmy.  This clarity helps make them easier to distinguish among the base material.  A difficult material to work but tends to produce sapphires that respond well to heat-treating.
